Reporting to the Director, Advancement of Learning and Teaching, the Associate Director will oversee the creation of exciting new approaches to learning and teaching, lead creative professionals the production of digital artefacts that enhance learning, and work collaboratively with University staff in facilities to integrate them into learning, teaching and curricula. Some key responsibilities include:
- Leveraging new technologies and creative opportunities to ensure that USQ is the leader in online learning;
- Advancing overall excellence in catalysing innovative, digital-first student learning, and academic teaching experiences, including gamification, visualisation, immersion and interactive engaged learning; and
- Embedding digital literacy in student learning to achieve excellent graduate employment outcomes for USQ students who will utilise these skills in innovative ways as future leaders in industry.

Associate Director (Academic Development)
Office for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (Toowoomba or Springfield or Ipswich)
Reporting to the Director, Advancement of Learning and Teaching, the Associate Director will guide the team responsible for reviewing, redesigning and improving program and course curriculum and pedagogical approaches with a focus on student engagement, retention, and satisfaction. Some key responsibilities include:
- Building academic capacity to teach by providing progressive professional development in contemporary approaches to facilitate learning;
- Supporting staff success in learning and teaching awards, grants and fellowships; and
- Applying thought leadership, designing initiatives, inspiring and managing staff as a senior member of OALT’s senior leadership group.
