CAULLT conference detailsThursday 12 November 2020 9am
The Virtual CAULLT conference to be held on 12 and 13 November, has attracted leading speakers in the areas of its theme #outoftheblue, a virtual journey through resilience, re-imagining and recovery.
The conference will be held from 11am to 2pm on Thursday 12 November and Friday 13 November. The first day will be open to all, but the second day is restricted to CAULLT nominees.
The program for Thursday 12 November features Dr Diana Oblinger, President Emeritus of EDUCAUSE as the key note, speaking to What would make us more resilient? Her abstract and biography are here. She recently published in EDUCAUSEreview ‘Digital Transformation: It’s Time’: https://er.educause.edu/articles/2020/8/digital-transformation-its-time There will be time for questions.
‘Re-imagining’ is the theme for A/P Phill Dawson (Deakin University) with his presentation Reimagining assessment beyond restrictions and surveillance. His abstract and biography are here . Again there is time for questions.
The afternoon is scheduled to feature examples of members’ achievements on re-imagined practice and leadership in assessment during COVID-19. Submissions are welcome until 22 October.
The program for Friday 12 November is for CAULLT nominees only in an effort to provide some of the networking which is a highlight of CAULLT’s usual conferences. It will start under the theme of ‘Recovery’, when A/P Nina Fotinatos (Federation University) will present Frank and fearless focus: Freeing your mindset is freaky. Many will recall Nina’s moving presentation on Well being for well beings at a CAULLT conference a few years ago. There is time for questions. Her abstract and bio are here
Again under the ‘Recovery’ theme A/P Duncan Nulty and Dr Alison Owens (ACU) will present on Using values to enhance leadership in higher education, followed by time for questions. Their brief abstract and biographies are here.
The afternoon will feature a special session, Sharing our practices: Reflecting, responding and refreshing, which is designed to give members an opportunity to connect with each other, share challenges and discuss strategies for successful leadership of learning and teaching.
