Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching (CAUT) MOOC
Following a 12 month review process the all modules of the MOOC have been updated for semester 1. 2023. The review process has been led by CAULLT member A/Prof Agnes Bosanquet (Macquarie University) with A/Prof Marina Harvey. A CAULLT grant funded an Educational Developer to rigorously ensure the functionality, adherence to style and copyright licencing, and accessibility.
Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching is a free massive open online course (MOOC). We are excited to launch eight new modules, with a total of 24 modules to choose from! The new modules include:
- Academic mentoring
- Assessment in focus
- First year transition
- Gender equity in higher education
- Leadership for learning and teaching
- Peer review of teaching
- Psychology of learners and learning
- Universal design for learning
You can choose which modules you explore and when, but we recommend one of the four pathways: new to teaching, enhancing student learning, enhancing your teaching practice or leading learning and teaching. Study is self-paced in two-hour modules that can be completed over a semester.
MOOC content is available to universities to share and adapt under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license. The course is presented under the auspices of the CAULLT and is led by A/Prof Agnes Bosanquet (Macquarie University) and A/Prof Marina Harvey.
