The Contemporary Approaches to University Teaching is a free massive open online course (MOOC) designed for new teachers, and those who wish to enhance student learning or teaching practice and emerging leaders in higher education.

A 2022 CAULLT grant supported the QA/QE review of the whole program. This webinar outlines:
  • the 7 step review process,
  • overviews the 24 modules, and
  • four new pathways of study.
Participants are invited to engage with a learning activity from the MOOC and to identify new modules for future development.

Presenters

Associate Professor Agnes Bosanquet (Macquarie University)

Agnes is an academic developer and higher education researcher. Her current role is Director, Learning and Teaching Staff Development. Her scholarly focus is qualitative research in critical university studies and changing academic roles and identities. With a PhD in cultural studies, she uses critical theories and creative methodologies to explore power relations, discourses and practices of inclusion and exclusion, locations of knowledge and constructions of subjectivity in higher education.

 

Honorary Associate Professor Marina Harvey (Macquarie University)

Marina is an Australian National Teaching Fellow, a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of ALARA (Action Learning and Action Research Association) and has received national and university citations for outstanding contributions to student learning. Her 15 years of scholarship in learning and teaching in Higher Education extends to a growing list of over 90 publications. Her scholarly interests include reflection for learning, distributed leadership, peer review and mentoring.
